Spurk Building Renovation
“The classroom building” at Northern Essex Community College (NECC) was due for a modernization and systems upgrade since it had little improvement since 1971. Know as the busiest building on campus. It houses 33 classrooms, 54 faculty offices, and a café. The renovation provided seating for 50 students in the café, upgraded the HVAC system, new windows, fire suppression, elevator upgrade, accessibility upgrade and envelope repairs to ensure insulation and weatherproofing. The Spurk Building renovation project was completed under the ownership of the Commonwealth’s Division of Capital Asset Maintenance and Management.
