Diamond Sinacori / EA Fish Associates

The historic Waterworks complex, after having provided water to Boston, Brookline and Newton for nearly a century, was deemed surplus in 2002, was turned over to the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, and now provides a picturesque setting for this new condominium project along the banks of the Chestnut Hill Reservoir. The Watermark building complements its historic Romanesque and Beaux-Arts pump house neighbors with its use of similar building materials and clean, simple and contemporary detailing, reflecting the classical treatment in a manner appropriate for modern times and building methods. The Watermark overlooks the restored National Register Olmstead Brothers landscape and its units are finished with Poggenpohl cabinets, stainless steel appliances, granite countertops, hardwood flooring, and marble baths.
