Internship Dates: Monday, May 4, 2026 – Friday, August 21, 2026 

Schedule: In office, Monday – Friday, 40 hours per week 

 

DiMella Shaffer is seeking a Design Support Intern for the summer 2026 internship cycle. As an intern, you’ll collaborate with our design support team to deliver design excellence across a variety of markets. You’ll gain hands-on experience in balancing creativity, quality, and functionality while contributing to meaningful projects that make a real impact for our clients. 

Through design research, documentation revisions, strong organizational skills, and clear communication, you’ll support our team in creating thoughtful, high-performance environments where people live, learn, work, and play. 

 

The responsibilities of the Design Support Intern, guided by Senior Designers, encompasses a diverse range of tasks, including but not limited to: 

  • Conducting comprehensive design research. 
  • Performing thorough site and context analysis. 
  • Creating preliminary design studies 
  • Generating architectural drawings for clients, contractors, and consultants. 
  • Producing conceptual graphics that clearly communicate design intent. 
  • Compiling design presentation packages. 
  • Fabricating physical models utilizing 3D printers. 

 

Things we value, but are not required to apply: 

  • In pursuit of a professional degree, or recently obtained professional degree 
  • Proficiency in 3D modeling, visualization, and graphics software such as:  
  • Revit, Sketch-Up, and/or Rhino 
  • Lumion and/or Enscape 
  • Adobe Creative Suite and Affinity Publisher 
  • InDesign and PowerPoint

Compensation: The hourly range for this role is $24.00 – $26.00.
