Peter McAuley

Associate
AIA

Peter’s interest in architecture began early, inspired by building with Legos and Lincoln Logs and later crafting scale models with his father, an architect. Watching the design process unfolding through sketches and drawings made the profession feel tangible and sparked his passion for design.

At DiMella Shaffer, Peter enjoys the problem-solving nature of architecture, finding creative solutions within constraints and ensuring designs are both functional and buildable. His strengths lie in technical detailing and visualizing projects in 3D, which helps him anticipate challenges and develop solutions before construction begins.

Outside the office, Peter explores light and composition through photography and continues his love for craftsmanship by building scale models of ships and airplanes. If not an architect, he imagines he’d be designing immersive worlds through video game design or 3D modeling, fields that share his passion for creativity and precision.
